Recently, the daily installed capacity of wind and PV power at Shandong's grid crossed the mark of 80 million kW and reached 82.288 million kW, ranking first among provincial grids. Of the amount, the installed capacity of PV power was 56.377 million kW, continuing to rank first in China; that of wind power was 25.911 million kW, ranking fourth in China.

In 2023, the installed capacity of wind and PV power in the province increased by 16.821 million kW; the annual wind and PV power generation capacity reached more than 115 billion kWh; the proportion of wind and PV power generation capacity rose from 11.3% at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period to 22.6%. It can be seen that wind power and PV power have played an increasingly important role in ensuring supply for the province's grid.

Since 2023, State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company has provided active services for the offshore wind power base, the PV base in the saline-alkali tidal flat land in Lubei, and other projects to be successfully connected to the province's grid. During the year, the company completed acceptance and connection to the grid for 31 wind farms, 68 PV power stations, and 50 energy storage power stations; and the number of new energy farms and stations that were connected to the grid with the help of the company increased by 52% year-on-year. As long as safety and quality are ensured, the company has helped all the qualified new energy farms and stations get connected to the grid, thus creating good conditions for the healthy development of new energy.
