Recently, the People's Government of Shandong Province issued the Action Plan for the High-quality Development of the New Energy Vehicle Industry in Shandong Province. Aiming at creating new competitive advantages for passenger vehicles and consolidating the leading position of commercial vehicles, the document calls for efforts to cultivate an integrated development ecology featuring "smart cars, reliable energy, intelligent roads, real-time cloud" for the NEV industry, implement the "5567" project to upgrade the industrial chain and promote the high-quality development of the industry in an all-round manner.

Specifically, the "5567" project means expanding the scale of 5 leading passenger vehicle enterprises and 5 leading commercial vehicle enterprises, enhancing the strength of 6 core component fields, and optimizing the development of 7 supporting product fields, thereby striving to increase the scale of Shandong's NEV industry to 500 billion yuan by 2025. To achieve this, Shandong will implement ten major actions: maximizing the guiding role of leading automobile enterprises, developing chains and clusters for supporting enterprises, pursuing differentiated development in industrial planning, advancing the all-round application of market expansion, promoting collaboration in innovation capabilities, improving speed and efficiency in infrastructure, advancing demonstration application of autonomous driving, achieving breakthroughs in green and low-carbon innovation, introducing digital technology to manufacturing, and improving both quality and branding.
